Abstract

Coding Our Future started in 2016 as a voluntary initiative of individuals and organizations with the common goal of promoting computer and coding skills for students, teachers and parents.

The program includes events, seminars and workshops to promote and develop computer skills and problem solving through programming.

The program is offered FREE of charge with sponsorships from various agencies and on its logo superheroes are featured, because the coding skills are considered as the superpowers of the future.

Description of the practice

Innovative program carried out in collaboration with the Nicosia "Astroschool"

It is offered with a visit to a space offered by the Cyprus Youth Organization and includes two parallel workshops that combine astronomy and robotics, lasting three hours (start 09.00 - end 12.00).

One class is able to participate in each visit (in case of joined classes, the number of students should not exceed 30). It is addressed to students of B cycle of Elementary and High School and only 30 workshops will be offered for 2020
