General Info

Makers in the classroom - at Raval district (Barcelona)
Abstract

The project "Makers in the classroom" wants the students of the INS Milà i Fontanals (instuitute) to collaborate with groups and organizations in the area. It is an active learning, a reflection on practice, which aims to strengthen the feeling of belonging and rooting in the territory. We will focus on students, promoting responsible and active participation through real situations of daily life, within the concept of global citizenship, seeking the good of society as a whole.

The students of our center will visit the primary schools in the area, interview the students and teachers of 2nd grade and make a classroom observation. They aim to find out how children play, find out what games and toys they use in school, what dynamics are enhanced… Once this information has been gathered, students must design and create their own proposal for toys with digital manufacturing technologies, in order to return to primary school and invigorate a game session with the little ones, in addition to giving the center the toys created thinking about them.
