Abstract

STEM4TEACHERS

Lack of STEM skilled professionals: 6% of College/ Highschool (Batxillerato) students in Catalunya opt for an ICT study. Only 1 out of 5 participants is a girl. For professional education (FP) this is even worse. Organizations need more incoming STEM oriented curriculums and capture talent to increase their competitiveness. It is imperative to boost STEM studies in general and for women particularly. Will you join us?

STEM4Teachers will create awareness, curiosity and motivate children of primary and secondary education towards scientific and technological vocations through their main influencers: teachers and parents. 

STEM4Teachers are Free, practical coached workshops for upper primary and secondary schooling teachers in STEM, taking place during school classes, with tools and content which orient and motivate girls and boys towards science and technology. 
 

STEM4TEACHERS:

Falten perfils STEM a les empreses: aquest és un fet i les dades ho demostren: Només un 6% dels alumnes de Batxillerat trien una enginyeria TIC, i d'aquests, 1 de cada 5 és noia. Les dades a l'FP són encara més baixes. Les organitzacions necessiten rebre més currículums STEM, captar més talent per ser més competitius. Cal impulsar les vocacions STEM, en general, i de les de dones en particular. T'hi sumes?

Stem4Teachers pretén impulsar i motivar a l'alumnat de primària i secundària cap a les vocacions científiques i tecnològiques a través dels principals prescriptors: els mestres i els pares i mares.

Stem4Teachers són formacions pràctiques i gratuïtes pel professorat de primària i secundària en STEM, en horari escolar, per donar les eines que ajudin a orientar i a motivar les nenes i els nens cap als estudis científics i tecnològics.

Description of the practice

Activities:

  1. Inspiring speaches like female role models in STEM and unbiased behavior for scholars, teachers and parents.
  2. Scratch, 3D-printing and Tinkercad 
  3. Micro:bit Scratch based 
  4. STEM Workshops: starting with airplanes and to be extended to, f.e., encryption, sensors and much more.

    Activitats:

    1. Xerrades per motivar canvis actitudinals per alumnes, docents i AMPAs/AFAs.
    2. Scratch, impressió 3D i Tinkercad (5è primària i 1r d'ESO).
    3. Micro:bit basat en Scratch (ESO).
    4. Taller STEM: Avions, encriptació, sensors

    Desenvolupament d'habilitats:

    • Treballar conductes i actituds.
    • Foment de la creativitat.
    • Inspirar la innovació.
    • Desenvolupament de talent
